The unusually large dollop of lovely Merlot had something to do with that of course, but for a long time over recent years it's just been a little mean; a tad bony almost.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis year, however, it's a true marvel and has all the components to become a really magical wine to compete alongside, and (I'd imagine) eclipse, some of its former superstars, like the 1996 and 1982. Silky, creamy and lush, it has a killer body and a spectacular finish. We know it's going to be expensive but this year it will be really worth it, as it’s going to be one of the stars of the vintage.
